Somatic Movement

We go through life without realising we are holding tension in our muscles. Chronic muscle tension accumulates over time as we experience stress and injury, well moving and holding ourselves in a certain way. Somatic Movement involves consciously retraining our nervous system to release unconsciously held muscle tension and change painful movement and posture habits.

In Person & Online

Somatic Movement Sessions

The Initial Session is 90 minutes and the follow up sessions are 60 minutes. Each session consists of an assessment, teaching of movement sequences and handouts with instructions for your home practise. For your online session you will need a mat and a blanket (to be rolled up for support under your head if it is needed). The mat can be replaced for a chair if you are uncomfortable with lying down on the floor. Sessions are available in person and online via appointment.
